Ode to the Doud’s
This bloodline runs thick like rich aged old wine,
Our love a figure eight it has no ends.
Each day we grow close like a tangled vine,
Blood makes us family but soul makes us friends.
Oh the feeling of their safety and love,
The warm embrace when you walk through the door,
The armor they give is like an army
Taking tough tasks no matter the heart sore.
With them by my side all my fear is gone,
I feel that with them is where I belong,
Each one of us a lifeline dusk or dawn,
This feeling of love is forever long.
Without my family I could not survive,
For they are the reason I am alive.
